domestice league and Cup tie, as well as all European games going

.SCOTTISH CUP FINAL
2005 - MARTIN O'GOD'S LAST MATCH
The
Celtic players defeated Dundee United 1-0 to win the Scottish Cup
at Hampden today and then made history when they insisted that Martin
O'Neil went up to accept the cup on their behalf and become the first
manager ever to do so. The Celtic fans agreed with that decision as
Martin and his backroom team of John Robertson and Steve Walford lifted
the famous cup aloft. It was the loudest cheer of the day from a crowd
still hurting from the shock defeat at Motherwell just six days ago.
As
expected, a match programme was issued in glossy A4 format but was
overpriced at £5 and did not sell-out. Click here
to see the programme and match ticket.
The next time we see Celtic in a competitive match,
Gordon Strachan will be manager and several of the players will have
gone to other teams. We are extremely sad that Martin had to go but
we wish him, his wife and family all the very best of luck and hope
and pray that Geraldine can beat her illness and make a full recovery.
Goodbye, God bless and THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for five brilliant
years.
.TIOCFAIDH ÁR
LÁ 28/05/05 - THE FINAL FAREWELL
The
last ever issue of of Tiocfaidh Ár Lá was on sale at
the Scottish Cup Final today. Issue 40 will be the last issue of the
magazine in paper format. However, TÁL will continue on the
web and they hope to produce a more regular but shorter E-zine edition
of the fanzine after a general overhaul of their website at www.talfanzine.com.
An article on their Web site explains why they have decided to finish
the publication. Read more
at the TIOCFAIDH ÁR LÁ Web site including news of a
new fanzine that will be sold at Celtic Park next year. Visit our
TÁL page. Two other Celtic fanzines were also being sold
at the cup final. Not the View Issue 134 and the latest issue of More
than 90 Mins.
.ABERDEEN SPL36 08/05/05
Celtic brought back the 'big guns' for the match against
Aberdeen at Celtic Park today and won 2-0 with both goals scored by
Big John Hartson. With that result, Celtic remain top by two points
with two games to play - Hearts (away) and Motherwell (away).
Celtic issued the
final SPL match programme of the season and it featured
Paul Lambert on the cover for the last time before he leaves to go
into management. It is also possible that this will be the last Celtic
programme printed by First Publishing, the company that currently
prints ALL of the paperware that Celtic (and Rangers) issue. From
next season the Celtic programme and Celtic View will be printed by
Oxfordshire-based printers "Cre8".
The
June 2005 issue of alternative VIEW was
available at the match on Sunday and in your newsagent from today.
Issue 36, like the previous issues, covers the subjects that most
Celtic supporters are talking about - the first printed mention of
the current rumour about Martin O'God taking a six month break from
football at the end of this season, Rangers directors on fraud charges,
the crap we read from the laptop loyal is disected and much more.
for the current issue or here
for our aV page. Next issue (37) is out on Wed 8th of June.
.BROTHER WALFRID BROCHURE
- 30/04/05
The
commemorative Brother Walfrid Memorial Brochure was on sale at today's
match with Hibs. The brochure costs £5 and will help to raise
funds for a statue of the club's founder to be erected at Celtic Park.
You can buy a copy of this superb magazine at all official Celtic
outlets and from the Association and Affiliation Web sites.
APRIL 2005
.HIBERNIAN SPL35 30/04/05
Celtic issued a match
programme for £2.
.CELTIC YOUTHS
Various Celtic youth teams have been busy playing in
friendly matches recently that have produced match programmes. Celtic
Boys Club Under 12's played a friendly match against Dutch side sv
Ommoord on 25 March. The match was played at Fullarton Park in Glasgow
and a four-page, A5 colour programme was produced in very small numbers.
to see the programme.
Celtic Under 12's Pro Youth (Adademy) team took part
in the pro youth Sens Tournoi Sans Frontière in France from
25th to 27th March 2005 along with teams from Lyon, Nantes, Real Sociedad,
Anderlecht and Marseille. Click here
to see the tournament programme.
Celtic
Under 11s Pro Youth (Adademy) team took part in the Mezzocorana Cup,
a pro youth tournament in Italy from 23rd to 25th April. An excellent
A4 glossy programme was issued. Click here
to see the tournament programme.

.THE SECOND GREAT GLASGOW
PROGRAMME FAIR
The 2nd Glasgow Programme
Fair will be held tomorrow (Monday 1st) at the Ramada
Glasgow City Hotel (formerly the Ingram Hotel) in Ingram Street. The
fair will run from 11am to 4pm and admission is free. Many of Scotland's
top dealers will have stalls at the fair so why not go along and make
it a success.
.CELTIC VETERANS IN
DUBAI - 27/04/05
A
team of ex-Celts played their Rangers counterparts in the Dubai Charity
challenge match recently and an excellent 42 page match programme
was issued for the event. Click here
to see the programme and more info.
Interestingly, the programme was produced by communications
company Cre8.Network. As we reported last month, Cre8.Network will
be producing the Celtic (and Rangers) match programme and Celtic View
from next season and, If they pick up where First Publishing left
off, they will also produce all of the other brochures and magazines
that Celtic issue each season - Player of the Year etc.
This could be good news for Celtic collectors as Cre8
already produce programmes for some of the English premiership sides
including West Bromich Albion and Chelsea. If you have had a chance
to see any of these productions, you will no doubt agree that the
standard is much higher compared to some of the rubbish we've had
to suffer from First Publishing. For example, the Tom Boyd testimonial
programme and more recently, the Jackie McNamara effort. Cre8 will
produce the Celtic programme at a consistent size, on quality paper
and with more pages. However, the editorial will remain with the Celtic
editorial team. Cre8 will also be responsible for marketing and selling
the programme so expect the wee guy standing in the pouring rain flogging
you a sodden programme for £3 to disappear - hopefully. Visit
the flashy Cre8 Web site at www.cre8network.com.
.ST MIRREN UNDER 19'S
SFA YOUTH CUP FINAL - 27/04/05
The
Under 19's clinched Celtic's first trophy of the season by beating
the St Mirren youths 2-0 at Hampden tonight in the SFA Youth Cup Final.
The young Celts gave an excellent performance overall with James O'Brien
scoring both goals in the first-half while McGlinchey and Ferry controlled
the midfield. The St Mirren youths played well also with their best
performance coming from Scott Gemmill. An A5 black and white programme
was issued free on entry. Click here
to see the programme, match ticket and teamsheet.
.THE CELT ISSUE 89
- 26/04/05
Issue 89 of The Celt magazine is out. You can subscribe
to The Celt at the address below. Subscriptions give fantastic value
at £5 for every 4 issues, the price includes p&p). Send
your payment to E.A. MacBride, 31, Harrowby
Lane, GRANTHAM, NG31 9HY, UK. Click here
to see the current issue or here
for The Celt fanzine page.
.RANGERS SPL34 24/04/05
It was flag day in Govan on Sunday but not for the
Dark Force. The super Hoooops had another easy win at the Deathstar
with two brilliant goals from Stan Petrov and Craig Bellamy that killed
off the Ibrox challenge. Plonker referee Stuart Dougal tried his best
to see that his favourites did better but he was wasting his time
as Martin O'God's heroes racked up another three points. It just doesn't
get any better. A sell-out match programme was issued. Click here
to see it. ECK MUST STAY !
FOR SALE - CELTIC STRIPS SIGNED BY MR NOBODY
Have you noticed the amount of 'autographed' Celtic
memorabilia for sale on ebay. If we are to believe that all of these
items are authentic and have been signed by the actual player(s) and
not just by the seller, we must also be willing to believe that the
Celtic players do nothing else in their spare time except put their
name to the various bits of junk being sold on that Web site. It isn't
possible. The truth is that the majority of these items are created
by the sellers to swindle you out of your cash. Don't fall for it.
Another ebay con is the selling of items as official
when they are not. Right now on ebay another seller is trying to get
your money by offering the official teamsheet for the UEFA Cup Final
2003 in Seville. The seller (or whoever gave him/her it) has taken
the press kit teamsheet which was downloadable for free from the UEFA
Web site and added the UEFA/Carlsberg logo that did appear on the
original teamsheet available at the match but has missed out the coloured
sponsors logos that appeared at the bottom of the page. If you want
to see this auction, click here.
Not satisfied with getting your £'s for nothing, this guy wants
you pay another £1 for HIS Paypal fees and £2 for postage.
That will be £4 (at least) for a single sheet of paper that
you can download from the UEFA Web site for nothing.
ebay is a fantastic resource for collectors but beware
of the conmen.
ABERDEEN SPL 33 16/04/05
A
3-2 win against the Dons at Celtic Park on Saturday kept Celtic at
the top of the SPL for the first game after the split. The young Aberdeen
team shocked the 60,000 crowd by going 2-0 up in just 14 minutes through
Alexander Diamond and Darren Mackie. Stan Varga pulled one back before
half-time and John Hartson and Craig Bellamy each scored in the second
half to give the Hoops all three points. Celtic isued their usual
style match programme.
.LIVINGSTON SPL 32
13/04/05
Livingston
issued their usual style match programme for £2.50. Click here
to see the programme and match ticket. After an 82 minute silence
at Ibrox during the 1-0 defeat to Dundee United on Tuesday night,
Celtic had a chance to go back to their rightful place at the top
of the SPL by beating Livingston tonight. The Hoops did it in style
and by winning 4-0, they cut their goal difference with Rangers to
minus 1. John Hartson grabbed a hat-trick and, candidate for Player
of the Year, Stan Varga added the fourth. Eck must stay !
.HEARTS SCOTTISH CUP
SEMI-FINAL 10/04/05
The
SFA issued a B5 sized match programme with forty glossy pages in full
colour for £3. Click here
to see a copy of the programme and match ticket. The May 2005 edition
of the excellent alternative View Celtic magazine (Issue
35) was also on sale outside the ground and will be available
at the usual outlets this week. Click here
for our alternative View page.
The MAJORITY of Hearts fans at Hampden today reflected
the sectarian and bigoted nature of Scotland. It was there for all
to see. None of them can deny it any longer. It is not an Old Firm
thing, it's a Scottish thing. Their shameful refusal to observe a
minute of silence for Pope John Paul II is all we can expect from
bigots and don't believe the usual BBC cover-up claiming that it was
only some of them that were involved - they are part of the problem.
MOST of the Hearts fans took part in the booing and the singing about
being up to their knees in Fenian blood during the planned minute.
It was so bad that referee Stuart Dougal had to call an end to the
'silence' after only 16 seconds. The Scottish establishment is full
of bigots who hate catholics - the media, the police, judges and lawyers.
The list is endless but if First Minister Jack McConnell really wants
to do something about Scottish bigotry, let him start with all of
the above and not with the persecuted minority.
HEARTS SPL31 02/04/05
Three
precious points were lost in the race for the SPL in this match. Hearts
played well to win 2-0 but the Hoops had the chances to win this one.
Celtic issued their domestic style match
programme in the usual numbers.
Two
Celtic fanzines were on sale before the match. Issue 32 of More than
90 Mins was available from the usual sources for £2. It seems
that there is good news for readers of Green, White & Bold as
the mag has been incorporated into Mt90M with this issue. Former contributors
to G,W & B will now submit their articles for publication in future
issues of Mt90M. Click here
for the More than 90 Mins Web site.
Not The View issued number
132 of their popular Celtic fanzine. Like most of the other Celtic
fanzines this month, the main articles deal with dodgy linesmen, dodgy
penalties, Panorama and the Laptop Loyal. Click here
to see every issue of NTV.
MARCH 2005
..ST MIRREN RICKY GILLIES
TESTIMONIAL - 30/03/05
St Mirren beat a Celtic XI 1-0 in Ricky Gillies testimonial
match at St Mirren Park tonight. Surprisingly, no match programme
was issued.
.GREEN, WHITE AND BOLD
FOLDS
Regrettably,
Green, White & Bold Celtic fanzine has gone out of business. The
newest of Celtic fanzines, GW&B sold their first issue at the
Kilmarnock match at Celtic Park on 31 January 2004. It was sold at
the Rangers end of the ground and in front of the old primary school
on London Road where the small print run of 400 copies sold out fast.
The writers went on to publish another six issues before folding under,
we assume, the financial pressure of running such a publication. Click
here
to see all seven issues.
.LAST ISSUE OF TIOCFAIDH
ÁR LÁ - 18/04/05
Issue 40 of TIOCFAIDH ÁR LÁ will be the
last issue of the magazine in PAPER format. However, TÁL will
continue on the web and they hope to produce a more regular but shorter
E-zine edition of the fanzine after a general overhaul of their website
at www.talfanzine.com.
An article on their Web site explains why they have decided to finish
the publication
| "... A
number of factors have brought this decision about. ... The
laws and regulations with regard to "sectarianism" in Scotland
are increasingly being adapted for use against those who show
political support for Irish republicanism. This together with
the generally antagonistic and repressive policing policies at
football grounds has made it more difficult to sell the TÁL magazine
at Celtic Park ..... It’s our opinion that the proposed
tightening of laws and regulations on ‘sectarianism’ are almost
entirely press-led, completely misplaced and politically misguided.
" |
Read more
at the TIOCFAIDH ÁR LÁ Web site including news of a
new fanzine that will be sold at Celtic Park next year. Our thanks
to Don Kane of the Johnstone No1 CSC for info on this article. Visit
our TÁL

RECENT FANZINES AND OTHER ISSUES
The Celt issue 88 is out. The Easter 2005 issue is
no different from any other issue of this great mag as it is crammed
full of Celtic articles, commentary and statistics that you won't
read anywhere else. You can subscribe to The Celt at the address below.
Subscriptions give fantastic value at £5 for every 4 issues,
the price includes p&p). Send your payment to E.A.

Issue
34 of the alternative View was on sale at the Dunfermline match
at Celtic Park on 12 March and was in the newsagents the following
Wednesday. Always a fantastic read, this issue gives its view on the
pathetic Panorama programme shown by the bigoted BBC recently. Talk
about the pot calling the kettle black. We called the BBC to complain
about the bias reporting of their reporter Forbes McFall and his inaccurate
report on Celtic fans not observing a minute of silence at Motherwell
and we were told by the guy taking the complaint that the Celtic fans
deserve everything they get because we didn't observe the minute of
silence for the Queen Mother. Honestly, that's what he said. Click
here
for our alternative View page.
Eire
Go Brach CSC held their Annual Charity Dinner on Friday 4th March
in the Balmoral Hotel, Belfast. An excellent 28 page A5 glossy brochure
with laminated card covers was produced for the event, Tommy Burns
on the front cover as guest of honour. Click here
to see the brochure cover. Click here

DUNDEE UNITED SPL30 19/03/05 - CRAIG BELLAMY HAT-TRICK
Craig
Bellamy scored all three Celtic goals in a tight 3-2 win at Tannadice
today and earned Celtic the points needed to go top of the SPL. United
issued a match
programme for £2.50 in the usual numbers.
INVERNESS C.T. SPL25 16/03/05 - ONLY 1 CRAIG BELLAMY
181
played, 150 won and only 12 defeats. That's Martin O'Neill's SPL record
since joining the Champions. Craig Bellamy contributed to that superb
record tonight in Inverness. Outstanding, he scored one and made one
as the Hoops beat Craig Brewster's ICT 2-0 at the Caledonian Stadium.
The result takes Celtic to just one point and four goals behind the
Forces of Darkness. Both of these stats will be sorted out this Saturday
when Celtic travel to Tannadice to play United and the Dark Force
takes on Motherwell in the CIS Cup Final at Hampden. C'mon the Hoops.
As promised, ICT issued the original programme from
the match postponed on 13 Feb with an A5, four page, black and white
insert included. Click here
to see the programme, insert and match ticket.

HIBERNIAN SPL 28 - 06/03/05
The
Champions went to Easter Road today and destroyed Hibernian 3-1 in
a thrilling match. Craig Bellamy gave the Hibs defence a roasting,
they hacked and kicked him while referee Kenny Clark let them. Stan
Petrov scored the first, Big John Hartson got number two and Craig
Bellamy rounded off the day for the travelling fans by scoring Celtic's
third. That result puts the pressure on Rangers as Celtic are only
4 points behind with 2 games in hand. Hibs issued a match
programme for £2.
THE VIEW FROM THE 32 ISSUE 12 - 02/03/05
The
View from the 32 is the official magazine of the Association of Irish
Celtic Supporters Clubs. The current offering is for Spring 2005,
it is numbered Issue 12 and was being sold at Celtic Park before the
match with Dundee. The magazine is A4 size, printed in full-colour
throughout on gloss paper and has a price to match - £3.00 /
€4.50. It is really aimed at members of the AICSC and is of limited
interest to Celtic fans based in Scotland. Click here

.DUNDEE SPL 27 - 02/03/05
Celtic
issued their usual domestic style match
programme for the SPL match with Dundee tonight. The programme
cost £2, was available in the usual numbers and did not sell-out.
FEBRUARY 2005
RANGERS SPL26 20/02/05.
Scarce programme.
..CLYDE FC SCOTTISH
CUP - 27/02/05
Celtic
beat Clyde 5-0 in an entertaining match at Broadwood Stadium today.
Stan Varga started the scoring by heading Celtic into a 1-0 lead in
40 minutes. Alan Thompson scored number two from the penalty spot,
Stilian Petrov scored number three, Varga scored his second and Celtic's
fourth and Craig Bellamy finished off the scoring with his first goal
for the Hoops in the 72nd minute.
"The Clyde View"
- Clyde issued an excellent A4 size match
programme for the match and it is easy to see why Clyde won Scottish
Programme of the Year last season. The 52 page programme was printed
in full colour on gloss paper for only £2.50 and is easily the
best Celtic programme this season.
If Clyde can issue a programme of this quality for
£2.50, how come we had to pay £3 for Celtic's Scottish
Cup issue against Rangers. That issue couldn't touch this programme
in any department and we sell in much larger numbers than Clyde.
.RANGERS SPL 26 - 20/02/05
Celtic issued their usual type of match programme for
the SPL match against Rangers on Sunday. Click here
for a bigger picture and more information.
Three other Celtic related publications were also on
sale at the match. Issue
31 of More
than 90 Mins was available but it was very difficult to find the
sellers and the copies available sold out early.
The
old favourite, Not
The View were selling Issue
131 picturing new Bhoy Craig Bellamy on the front cover along
with his fellow Welshman John Hartson.

33 of their excellent magazine. Click here

.THE CELT NUMBER 86
FEBRUARY 2005 - 07/02/05
The

Celtic's
greatest ever player, Jimmy Johnstone has his own Web site at www.jimmyjohnstone.com.
If you haven't already been there, do it now. Apart from the excellent
design of the site making your visit worthwhile alone, the content
is superb and you can buy a vast range of Jinky memorabilia using
the online shop. The site is Jinky's and the memorabilia is being
sold by him so you won't be giving your cash to cowboys out to make
a quick earner from Jimmy's name.
KILMARNOCK SPL24 30/01/05
Celtic
beat Kilmarnock 1-0 at Rugby Park today thanks to a Chris Sutton penalty.
Kilmarnock issued a page match
programme for £2.
MOTHERWELL SPL23 22/01/05
 Celtic
beat Terry Butcher's Motherwell 2-0 today and moved six points in
front of second place Rangers. Goals from Stan Petrov and Chris Sutton
were the only rays of light in a very dull match. Click here

Somebody must have been handing out the happy pills
to the Parkhead accountant this week because everyone that bought
a match programme today was given a free "Hoops We Did It Again"
video with their programme. Okay, the video is almost three years
old, is obviously stock that they can't shift and is an (almost) defunct
media type but, out of date peanuts and scabby old mince pies to celebrate
the birth of Christ aside, this is the first gift that I can remember
getting from the Club and I hope it is not the last.

RECENT FANZINES - 14/01/05

Celt fanzine for January 2005 was issued this week. Issue
85 cost just £1 and is worth every penny. It one of best mags
around these days and is crammed with stuff about Celtic that you
won't read anywhere else. The Celt can be bought from the address
below and you can subscribe to their very reliable subscription service.

only other place to buy the wee mag (as far as we know) is from GlasgowProgrammes.com.
They have an excellent Web site where you can order a copy. Danny

front of the Celtic car park on match days and he will be happy to
sell you a copy there.
The first Tiocfaidh Ár

Cup match last Sunday (09/01/05). Issue 39 cost £2/€3 for
24 A4 pages in full-colour. With only three issues produced per season,

RANGERS Scottish Cup 09/01/05

LIVINGSTON SPL21 02/01/05
Celtic
beat Livingston 2-1 today thanks to goals by John Hartson and Chris

programme for £2.
More
Than 90 Mins Issue 30 was on sale at today's match. The milestone
issue for January 2005 has 32 A4 pages in full colour for £2
/ 3€. Inside, Mt90M calls for a bhoycot of the The Sun newspaper
by Celtic fans after the disgraceful comments about Martin O'Neill
by their crap reporter Bill Leckie. Why not? We should stop buying
it. Just like the BBC, The Daily Record and others (you know who they
are), they hate Celtic so why should we give them our money. Stop

HEARTS SPL20 26/12/04 - TOP OF THE LEAGUE FOR 2005
Celtic
were back to great form today at Tynecastle. They played Hearts off
the park in an easy 2-0 victory to make sure they stay at the top
of the SPL into 2005. Young Aiden McGeeady scored first in 9 minutes
from a great move down the right and cross from Stan Petrov. Petrov
fired his pass through the Hearts box where McGeady met it and blasted
the ball past the helpless Hearts goallie. Celtic's second was just
as good. Chris Sutton won the ball in the air, heading it into the
path of Stan Petrov and he fired another rocket past Gordon. Hearts
issued their usual type of match
programme for £2.50.
NEW CELTIC PROGRAMMES WEB SITE LAUNCHED
A new Web site is now available for Celtic collectors
(and Rangers) to add to their collection online. David Farrell is
a very experienced collector and he is offering a wide range of programmes
at realistic prices. If you need a programme for your collection,
try David's site before you pay the prices on ebay. The site has been
developed by Joe Gillhooley of the Celtic Collectors Club and it is
very easy to use.
Programme lists are well organised into catagories
with the condition and price included. You can print an order form
on the site and send email enquiries to the seller. For Celtic collectors
used to being ripped off on ebay, you can trust the programme prices
to be fair, the descriptions to be accurate, the programmes to be
authentic and, having bought from David in the past, be sure of a
professional and polite service. You can find the Web site at www.davidfarrellprogrammes.com.
DUNDEE UNITED SPL19 18/12/04 - THE CHAMPIONS STAY
TOP
Celtic
made sure that they remained at the top of the SPL for Christmas after
a Chris Sutton goal gave them all 3 points in a 1-0 win against the
Arabs. Celtic issued the usual type programme for domestic matches
but there was a very small print run of just 6,500. Click here to
see a picture of the match programme.

AC MILAN Champions League, Group F Match 6, 07/12/04

HIBERNIAN SPL17 04/12/04 - BACK ON TOP
There's only one Neil Lennon and he was on the cover of today's
match programme for the SPL match against Hibs at Celtic Park. Celtic
won this hard-fought match 2-1 but it wasn't easy. Ex-Celt, Tony Mowbray's
young Hibs team are fit, skilful and competitive and they almost snatched
a point from this match. That is, until big John Hartson stepped in
with his, and Celtic's, second goal of the game to give the HooooooooooPs
all three points. Click here to see a
picture of the match programme.
You
could also buy two Celtic fanzines and a new Champions League match
badge at today's game. Not
The View Issue 129 and More
than 90 Mins Issue 29 were being sold at £1.50(NTV) and
£2.00/€3(Mt90M). The match badge is for Tuesday's Champions
League tie with AC Milan at Celtic Park. It is well made and worth
the £2.
NOVEMBER 2004
HILL O' BEATH HAWTHORN - 28/11/04
Celtic
sent a group of youngsters to Keirs Park on Sunday 28th November to
play Hill O' Beath Hawthorn in the Brian Kenny testimonial match.
A testimonial match programme was issued. Thanks to Celtic
Collectors Club for the match
programme image. This is the second time Celtic have played at
Keirs Park in as many years. During the 2002/03 season Celtic sent
a team to play in the
Bruce Deas testimonial match and again a match programme was issued
but in small numbers making it difficult to get.
CELTIC PROGRAMMES FOR SALE
A private collector has asked us to help him sell some
excess programmes from his collection. The programmes range from some
quite common issues to the rare TPS Turku away European Cup programme.
All are at set prices and you can see the list here.
BARCELONA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - 24/11/04
 No
official programme for Celtic's Champions League match in the Camp
Nou. Fortunately, there were two unofficial issues from the usual
Spanish pirateers on sale for 5€ each. The match itself was a
1-1 draw with John Hartson scoring just before half-time to level
for the Hooped heroes. Barcelona are a fantastic team and their talent
is immense but the Bhoys played well and held out in the second-half
to secure our first away point in the Champions League. Celtic are
now the only team to leave the Camp Nou undefeated this season. Click
for a picture of the pirate programmes
and match ticket.
Well
done to Martin, his backroom staff, the players and the travelling
fans. Everybody deserved this break after the racist and sectarian
abuse they have to suffer in Scotland - especially over the past couple
of weeks. Did you notice that a number of the players taking part
in the match chose to bless themselves on entering the field. As far
as we know, this did not result in any street riots or other kinds
of unrest around Barcelona. It does in Scotland though and the authorities
have banned Catholics from making the sign of the cross. Do you believe
that? It's 2004 and football players in Scotland are not allowed to
show that they are catholic for fear of offending the local population.
Apparently, when they see this being done, it fills them with rage
and they are unable to control themselves. Maybe that's the same thing
that happens when they see Neil Lennon. Although he played exactly
the same way as he does in bigoted Scotland, the Barca fans did not
hurl sectarian abuse at Neil Lennon every time he touched the ball.
Another thing, we laughed when he heard the news that some orc in
charge of the Orcs Supporters Clubs thinks that Martin O'Neil should
apologies to them for merely waving to the Celtic fans at Saturday's
'Afternoon at the Proms'. All we can say is don't hold your breath.
We will never apologise.

JIMMY JOHNSTONE TRIBUTE BROCHURE - 19/11/04
The
Jimmy Johnstone tribute night dinner was held on 24 October at the
Thistle Hotel in Glasgow. The organising committee printed a brilliant
24 page, A5 brochure for the occasion. The first 12 pages are unmissable
and tell the story of the wee man's career, as told by Jinky himself.
The story is illustrated throughout with photographs from Jinky's
favourite games, most of them you will have seen before but some were
new to me. It is a fantastic bit of Celtic memorabilia and as it celebrates
Celtic's greatest ever player, you may want to get a hold of one.
There are a limited number of the brochures still available
to buy and remember that all the money raised goes to The Jimmy Johnstone
Tribute Fund. If you want one, please send a MINIMUM DONATION of £3
plus £1 package and posting to Eddie McGaw,
12 Minnipool Brae, Creetown, Newton Stewart, DG8 7HL.
Cheques should be made payable to "THE JIMMY
JOHNSTONE TRIBUTE FUND". A Paypal facility is available by
email at the Celtic
Collectors Club. Don't miss out.
ALTERNATIVE VIEW HITS 30 - 17/11/04
They
looked down and out at one time but aV has survived the hard times
to celebrate another milestone in their history by issuing number
30 of their excellent Celtic magazine. The AV cannot be regarded as
a fanzine. Nothing about it makes it suitable for the tag of fanzine.
For a start, it is printed professionally, on high quality paper,
in full colour. The images and articles inside are of a very high
standard, as good as you will find and the whole production is on
a par with the club's own Celtic View. However, like the various
Celtic related fanzines, the main drive of the mag is making sure
that the people running our club know what we think of what they are
doing and poking fun at Rangers, their 'fans' and their players.Good
luck AV and keep up the good work.
THE CELT NUMBER 83 WINTER 2004 - 17/11/04
A
new issue of The Celt football magazine for is out. The

This month's issue has a picture of Coronation Cup winner Alex Rollo
who sadly died in October. Click here

INVERNESS CT SPL14 13/11/04
Chris
Sutton returned from injury today and took only three minutes to put
Celtic 1-0 up against Inverness CT. That goal was followed by another
two from John Hartson in 53 and 77 minutes. Celtic issued their usual
match programme for domestic matches.

CIS LEAGUE CUP - 10/11/04
Celtic
were beaten 2-1 tonight in the 4th round of the CIS Cup. John Hartson
put Celtic in front with a header in the 66th minute. With 83 minutes
gone, it looked like the Hoops would make it another victory over
the Ibrox strugglers but a mistake by Alan Thompson let them equalise
late in the game and score the winner in extra time. A match
programme was on sale for £2. Click this for a picture of
a match
ticket.

to play Clachnacuddin in the third round of the Scottish Youth Cup.
A 1-0 win for the young Celts was ensured by English striker Kirk
Hudson in the 78th minute when he beat the Clach keeper at his near
post with a low drive. Clachnacuddin issued an eight page match
programme with colour covers for £1. Click here

OCTOBER 2004
MOTHERWELL SP12 30/10/04

ABERDEEN SPL 11 - 27/10/04
Aberdeen
came to Celtic Park tonight and left with all three points as Celtic
lost 2-3. The Dons were two up in 6 minutes with goals from Darren
Mackie and Fernando Pasquinelli. Celtic struggled to get back on equal
terms but did eventually draw level thanks to goals from John Hartson
in 45 and 69 minutes. As Celtic pushed for the winner, they were caught
short at the back, John Stewart recieved a long pass, steadied himself
and shot past Marshall to end Celtic's unbeaten domestic run. Celtic
issued their usual match
programme for domestic fixtures.
LIVINGSTON SPL10 24/10/04

SHAKHTAR DONETSK CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - 20/10/04
The
Celtic board's failure to strengthen Martin O'Neill's squad for Europe
finally caught up with them tonight in the Ukraine as the Bhoys were
beaten 3-0. There was an official
programme and one pirate
programme on sale at the match. Click this to see a match
ticket. Do you know that you can download
a free press kit for the Shakhtar Donetsk match from the media
services section of the official UEFA Web site?
HEARTS SPL 9 - 16/10/04
Junhino
scored his first goal for Celtic in a 3-0 win against the Jammy Farts
today. Hearts played a kick-on-sight system likely to be used in their
UEFA Cup match in midweek as they clugged their way through the game.
The hardman tactics didn't work and they were swept aside by Celtic
when Henri Camara, Junhino and big John Hartson scored to rock their
tiny world. Celtic issued the usual domestic style programme for £2
with Chris Sutton on the front cover. Click here
to see a picture of the match programme. Click here

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MEMORABILIA - 16/10/04
Celtic's
involvement in the Champions League has already produced an unbelievable
amount of collectibles. Programmes (official
and pirate), Pennants, match tickets and pin badges are among the
most popular. On the right, is the latest Group F pin badge to appear
for the Champions League but there have been at least 25 others (for
all matches). If you want to see pictures of the other badges, click

Although we are still waiting for the first pirate

THE CELT - ISSUE 82 OCTOBER 2004
A
new issue of The Celt football magazine for is out. The
October Issue 82 has 28 A5 pages crammed with Celtic related info.
It is a brilliant read that you can't stop until you've finished it.
Some of the articles are fascinating and are the type that you just
don't get from any other Celtic publication. This month's issue has
a picture of a 19th Century Celtic player called Hugh Hilley on the
front cover and an article inside that makes you want to know more
about the man. Click here

Lane, GRANTHAM, NG31 9HY, UK.
The only other place to buy the wee mag (as far as
we know) is from GlasgowProgrammes.com
who have an excellent Web site and an online ordering system. Danny
Jacobs, the owner of GlasgowProgrammes.com, also has a stall at the
front of the Celtic car park on match days and he will be happy to
sell you a copy there.
DUNDEE UNITED SPL 8 - 03/10/04

CELTIC PIN BADGES 2004/05

badges are a very popular kind of memorabilia for Celtic fans to collect.
There are so many badges available these days it is very difficult
to keep up with new releases. If you're finding it difficult to keep
track of new releases, try David
Hood's Celtic badges Web site. There are hundreds of pictures
of badges, old and new and David puts a picture of every new badge
that becomes available on the site.

DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC SPL7 25/09/04
Stanislav
Varga (20) and Henri Camara (38, 54) scored the goals in a 3-0 win
against the Pars at Celtic Park today. That's five goals in as many
starts for Henri Camara as the Senegalese striker settles into life
in the SPL. Celtic issued the usual domestic style match
programme for £2 with CIS Cup hat-trick hero Ross Wallace
on the front cover. Click these links to see a picture of a match

HIBERNIAN SPL 6 - 19/09/04
Celtic
drew 2-2 with Hibs at Easter Road today and lost their 100% record
in the league. All four goals were scored in a dramatic first-half.
In just eight minutes, Bobo Balde diverted a weak Hibs cross over
David Marshall and into the net before Henri Camara equalised at the
other end in 34 minutes. Hibs replied just one minute later to go
2-1 up through David Murphy and John Hartson rounded off the scoring
seconds before Mike McCurry blew for half-time. Hibs issued a 56 page,
glossy, A5 size match
programme in full-colour for £2. Click this to see a picture
of a match
ticket.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AWAY PROGRAMMES
The
AC Milan game looms on Tuesday but don't expect a programme for the
game at the Stadio San Siro. A conflict with the club's sponsors and
UEFA's sponsors means that neither Milan or Barcelona publish a match
programme for Champions League games. However, both clubs have been
known to issue an advert-free, VIP edition but it is unclear if this
will happen at the moment - looks like Milan are more likely to issue
a VIP than Barca. By all accounts, Shakhtar do publish an official
programme and sometimes more than one version. Pirate programmes should
be on sale at all three games.
FC BARCELONA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE MATCH 1 - 14/09/04
 Celtic
lost their first Champions League group match 1-3 tonight at Celtic
Park against FC Barcelona. The defeat means that Celtic's run of 19
home games unbeaten in Europe comes to an end. Deco put Barca 1-0
up after twenty minutes, Chris Sutton equalised with a great effort
in the sixtieth minute but Giuly scored in 78 and Larsson added a
third eight minutes from time to take the match out of Celtic's reach.
It was a pleasure to watch this match, to see the fantastic talent
of Barcelona once again but it would have been even better if Martin
O'Neil had been given some money to buy the players we need to compete
in this arena. Anyone want to swap Roman Abramovich for Dermott Desmond?
An A4 match
programme with 48 full colour pages was issued in high numbers.
The programme did not sell-out. The only other bits of official memorabilia
on sale were a Celtic / Barcelona friendship scarf and a match pennant.

ticket and Windfall
ticket. Click here

Do you know that you can download
a free press kit for the Barcelona match from the media services
section of the official UEFA Web site? Parts of this kit are often
offered for sale on ebay - as 'rare official teamsheets' for example.
The kit includes the official UEFA team line-ups, a match facts booklet,
half-time/full-time report sheets and a player summary statistics
sheet. All of it comes as PDF files (Portable Document Format) that
are read and printed using Adobe Reader software you can download
free from Adobe's Web site.
DUNDEE SPL5 11/09/04 - TWO FOR HENRI CAMARA
Celtic kept their 100% record by beating Dundee in front of almost
57,000 fans today at Celtic Park. Henri Camara scored his first ever
competitive goal for Celtic and followed that with his second after
John Hartson made it two. The 3-0 win keeps Celtic at the top of the
SPL, six points in front of second place Aberdeen. Fourth place Rangers
could slip to fifth if they are beaten by Hearts at Tynecastle tomorrow.
Celtic Issued a match
programme for £2 that did not sell out.

tribute to the great man in this issue. The mag can only be bought

subscription service. Subscriptions give fantastic value at £5

CELTIC VIEW - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SUPPLEMENT - 01/09/04
Issue
8 of the Celtic View is out today and it included a UEFA
Champions League Guide 2004/05 as a supplement magazine. It is
similar to last season's
Champions League Guide 2003/04 in shape and design - the first
of these guides. Produced to their usual very high standards, the
cover is a work of digital art and is well worth the £1 it will
cost you if you didn't get a free copy with the View. The guide has
16 A4 pages in full-colour with all the info you need on our Group
F opponents.

AUGUST 2004
RANGERS SPL4 29/08/04 - DEBUT FOR BRAZILLIANT JUNINHO
Alan
Thompson scored a brilliant goal in front of 59,000 fans today to
beat Rangers 1-0 and set a record of 7-wins-in-a-row in Old Firm games
for the Hoops. Brazilian magician Juninho made a fantastic debut and
helped Celtic move five points in front of rivals Rangers. Celtic
issued a match
programme with Stan Petrov on the cover. Click these for pictures

style official teamsheet and a match
ticket.
NOT THE VIEW ISSUE 125 - 29/08/04
Issue
125 of Not The View fanzine was on sale at the 7-in-a-row match Rangers
today. It has a nice looking cover with a Brazilian theme - a theme
we will all be getting used to in the current season with. Issue 26
of More than 90 Mins fanzine was also on sale but we don't have a
picture to show you yet. Click here

CELTIC - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW 26/08/04
Celtic
have been drawn in Group F of the Champions League along with A.C.
Milan of Italy, FC Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine and Henrik Larsson's
Barcelona. The King of Kings will return to Paradise earlier than
we expected .... or wanted. Matches will be played on either Tuesday's
or Wednesday's through to December. The full list of matches for Celtic
are as follows:
Tues
14 Sept BARCELONA at home; Wed 29 Sept
Milan away; Wed 20 Oct Shakhtar
away; Tues 2 Nov SHAKHTAR home; Wed 24
Nov Barcelona away; Tues 7 Dec MILAN
Home. There will be match programmes for all of the matches at Celtic
Park but Milan and Barcelona don't always issue for Euro games and
Shakhtar are an unknown quantity.
Barcelona
and Milan are well known but our Pot 4 opponents have never been to
Celtic Park before. FC Shakhtar Donetsk play in the Ukranian League
and are currently in first place after four matches without defeat,
scoring nine goals with only one against. They play their home matches
at Central Stadium, Donetsk, a stadium with a capacity of just under
32,000.
They play in orange tops and socks (good excuse for
the forces of darkness to support them) with black shorts. They have
had four different names in the relatively short time since they were
founded in 1936. Under the Stalin regime as part of the former Soviet
Union, they have been known as Ugolshchiki, Stakhanovets and Shakhtyor
before choosing the current name in 1992. Their highest achievement
in Europe so far is UEFA Champions League Group Stage 1 in the Season
2000/2001 and reaching the quarter-final of European Cups' Winner
Cup in 1983/84.
INVERNESS CALEY THISTLE SPL3 22/08/04
Inverness
CT issued a 64 page glossy programme for their first ever league match
against Celtic. It was issued in small numbers, is quite scarce and
will be a difficult one to get in the future.. The front cover has
a photo of ex-celt Liam Keogh as well as match deatails and club sponsors.
The inside cover has ICT information and club honours. The next 10
pages have some drivel from their moaning faced wee manager and some
other club news and photos. Six pages are then set aside for Celtic
info and this is followed by ICT match reports for the reserves as
well as the big team. Liam Keogh has a six page spread and the centre
pages are used for a full-colour team photo.
The rest of the programme is used for club news and
other articles. Squad details and referees are on the back cover.
Although it is now one of the programmes priced at £2.50, for
ICT fans it is probably reasonable value for money. As a Celtic collector,
I would prefer to see less glitz, less glamour, less drivel, less
pages (these mult-page programmes are difficult to store) and a more
realistic price of £1 to £2. Click here to see the match
programme and match
ticket.
KILWINNING RANGERS - PAUL MULLIN TESTIMONIAL 18/08/04
A
young Celtic team travelled to Abbey Park, Kilwinning to play a testimonial
match for Rangers full-back Paul Mullin tonight. Paul is a Celtic
supporter and signed for the Buffs 10 years ago from Kilmarnock FC.
Kilwinning issued a testimonial
match programme with 36 A5 pages of mainly adverts but it had
enough reading to make the £1 it cost worth paying. Click here
to see the match

the Motherwell game to the Sunday may give Celtic a problem with the
friendly match against Spurs. That match is set for Monday 9th August
- just one day after the first SPL encounter. Colin Davidson, executive
producer of 'SPL Live' for Setanta Sports, said: "The fixtures we
have selected represent an excellent first month of the season on
Setanta Sports. We will feature both sides of the Old Firm on the
first weekend, followed by a Dundee derby, then an early look at the
new boys Inverness Caledonian Thistle. To finish the month with the
first of four Old Firm derbies is surely the icing on the cake for
our subscribers."
