THE MATCH PROGRAMME An A4 size semi-glossy programme was on sale inside the stadium at 3.5 Guilders. The 16 pages included some great photos and stories. Some of the articles are written in Dutch and others are in English. In one of these articles we are told that Mr Cruijff played his last game in Europe against Celtic in 1982 in a 1-2 defeat in the old Olympic Stadium. In another article, the match programmes, tickets and statistics for the matches played in 1971 and 1982 are reproduced (all of which can be seen back on our 'Celtic in Europe' page. This programme is signed by the great Wim Jansen, hero of the Celtic faithful. |

AJAXLIFE a newspaper issued for the game was distributed free at the match - one-per-fan. Don't think there will be too many of these made there way back over, especially in good condition. A few were on sale outside Celtic park at the Hearts match at £3. |

THE MATCH PROGRAMME An A4 size semi-glossy programme was on sale outside the stadium at £2. This 48 page programme has a great front cover using the champions league stars motif in a photographic montage. Unfortunately the inside looks and reads like the Celtic View. Not that the View is all that bad (Yes it is. It's so boring) but this is a match programme and in my opinion should be different. Included are some great photos of the Lisbon Lions (God bless them) and wee Jinky. Jinky recalls the 1971 clash between the two clubs and Charlie does the same for 1982. Vojvodina in 1967 is remembered. Other than these interesting articles it's advert, advert, advert. Still at only two pounds....... Always an advantage for the programme collector, all of the important match details are clearly included on the front cover. |
