THE MATCH PROGRAMME 32 B5 sized pages printed in full colour. 12 of these are adverts. There are a couple of excellent articles and the usual kind of info about the opponents. The best articles include one that has a look back at Anton Rogan's career with Celtic and Sunderland and another that rembers Dariusz Dziekanowski scoring four goals in a European tie and ending up on the losing side. The match was, of course, against Yugoslavian shock troops Partizan Belgrade in 1989. Celtic were 2-1 down from the first leg and 50,000 tims turned up to roar them through to the next round. What the fans were 'treated' to was a nine-goal rollercoaster ride to ultimate heartache. Celtic won the match in Glasgow 5-4, making 6-6 on aggregate (Partizan scored their 4th goal in the 90th minute). The away goals rule decided the tie and the Celts were out. |
