The two middle pages are used to list both squads and the forthcoming U21's fixtures. The next two pages list the result and a short report on every U21's match this season and the back cover is an advert for Safway.

Rainer Bonhof's young Scotland team won the match 2-0 with goals from Shaun Maloney and Simon Lynch. Shaun Maloney opened the scoring four minutes before the break with a superb dipping free kick from almost 30 yards out and Simon Lynch (now with Preston NE) completed the victory in 69 minutes, just two minutes after he came on.

Two other young Celts - Liam Millar and Jim Goodwin (now with Stockport County) were in the Republic team.
