On Saturday 22 May 2004, Celtic played Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park .... it was Henriks last competitive match in the Hoops. He scored the first two goals in a 3-1 win to lift the cup for Celtic and complete the league and cup double.
His final game was against Sevilla CF of Spain in a special tribute match the board will claim was to let the fans say goodbye. The reality was that we (including Henrik) had already said all our goodbyes at the Cup final and (especially) at the end of the SPL match against Dundee United a week earlier (Henrik's last league match). The 'tribute' match was really to pay his £1 million end-of-contract bonus. The match was never advertised as a "testimonial" match and there was never any inference that Henrik would get the proceeds .... except in the press where they don't bother too much about the accuracy of their stories.
The King of Kings played his very last match as a professional footballer in a league match between Helsingborgs IF and Djurgardens IF, at the Olympia stadium in Helsingborg October 28, 2009. He retired from playing and is currently the Manager of Swedish League side Landskrona BoIS.
