Celtic Under 17's played in the XIII International Braguin Tournament in the Ukraine. The tournament is hosted by the team that is now very familiar to Celtic fans, Shakhtar Donetsk. The Celtic youths played in the same group as Shakhtar (Donetsk, Ukraine), København (Denmark), FC Parma (Italy). The other group has some other familiar teams - FC Porto (Portugal), PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands), Olympiacos (Piraeus, Greece), FC Zenit (Saint Petersburg, Russia). Three cheers for FC Zenit!!

Celtic played FC Parma on Friday 22 August on the opening day of the tournament. On Saturday 23 the young hoops played København and hosts Shakhtar Donetsk. The tournament concluded on Sunday .

Celtic finished in 4th place, losing 1-3 against FC Zenit St Petersburg (Slayers of Evil 2008) in the 3rd/4th play-off..
