Manager: Billy MCNEILL (1978 - 1983)

At the end of the season Billy McNeill quit as manager to go south and manage Manchester City. McNeill won three League Championships, one Scottish Cup and one League Cup during this first stint as Celtic manager. He returned in 1987/88 season to guide Celtic to an unforgetable League and Cup double in the club's centenary season.
