The Celtic Story was a play written by David MacLennan and David Anderson to tell the story of the first 100 years of Celtic Football Club. The two hour production was play by Wildcat Stage Productions in the Pavillion Theatre in Glasgow. David Anderson said "One hundred years of Celtic in two hours is a tall order! " They were inundated with suggestions of "the one thing you must get in" and said that, in the end, they could have made a 26-part series for TV. Sounds like a good idea to us, so what happened to it and what would your top 10 events in the history of Celtic be? Below is the cover of the programme Celtic produced for sale at the show. The photograph in the middle is of the Centenary squad, management team and directors dressed in the style of a Victorian footbal team. Inside, the programme had several articles and photographs relating to the history of Celtic and great Celtic men like Willie Maley, Jock Stein, John Thompson and the Lisbon Lions. PROGRAMME |
