DEDICATED
TO A HERO OF WW2 - WILLIAM ANGUS V.C.
William Angus VC is the most famous son of
Carluke, a small town in Lanarkshire, Scotland. On leaving
school he was employed as a miner, but escaped the rigours
of that work when his soccer abilities led to him joining
Glasgow Celtic as a professional footballer. As he struggled
to gain a place in the strong Celtic team of that time,
his sporting days were interrupted by the outbreak of
war.
William Angus won the Victoria Cross for valour
when saving a fellow soldier under almost unbelievable danger
and this Web site is dedicated to his memory.
